Hollywood celebrate Jimmy Kimmel's 50th birthday with mean tweets

Television host Jimmy Kimmel celebrated his 50th birthday on November 13th and he celebrated the special day in style as an ocean of stars, including Jennifer Lawrence, David Letterman, Larry David and Will Ferrell read mean tweets directed at Kimmel himself. 'Mean Tweets' is a segment in Jimmy Kimmel's show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' in which Hollywood stars read all the mean tweets that have been written about them.

In a spoof on his segment, Kimmel jokingly asked, 'People tweeted mean things about me?' Television actor Ray Romano introduced explaining to Kimmel, 'We're going to take you down a notch.' Larry David read troll's tweet in his usual fluent manner, 'This is going to sound fantastic, but I forgot Jimmy Kimmel's name so I googled 'Ugly late night talk show host' and I got him, top link.''

But Kim Kardashian got way more personal, reciting a zinger that now-husband Kanye West fired at Kimmel during their 2013 feud. She read her husband Kanye West's tweet, 'JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES. OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD P****Y IN YOUR LIFE,' to which she replied, 'Fair point, Kanye.' Back in 2013, West went on a Twitter rampage against Kimmel, after Kimmel spoofed a widely seen interview the rapper gave about his place in the fashion industry.

Other big Hollywood stars who stopped by to read off mean tweets included Will Ferrell, Jennifer Lawrence, and Stephen Colbert, who roasted their friend via Twitter trolls. But it was actor Ben Affleck who gave the ultimate surprise to Kimmel on his special day. 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars' director J.J. Abrams showed up with a blast from Kimmel's past - a superhero comic book the host illustrated and wrote as a child.

Affleck and Abrams surprised the late night host by turning a comic book he created during his childhood, titled 'The Terrific Ten', into a full-on action flick. Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Ty Burrell, Billy Crudup, Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm and Shaquille O'Neal starred as the superheroes. Naturally, Kimmel's nemesis, Matt Damon, portrayed the villain Dr. Bolt along with Wanda Sykes as his sidekick, The Bleach Master. 'That was the best gift I ever got. Unbelievable,' said Kimmel.'
