It's World Animal Day, and what better time than now to engage in some fun with your canine pals at Mutt Mingle, an event that encourages animal lovers to spend quality time with their pets

Indulge in puppy love

World Animal Day is nothing less than an occasion to celebrate animal life in all its forms. At the same time, it also is a good time to reflect on the relationship one shares with a pet. Taking this thought forward is Mutt Mingle, an initiative by Bracialeto in association with World for All (WFA) Animal Care & Adoptions. The event aims at motivating pet parents to take advantage of the time to celebrate their love for animals.

“The idea behind Mutt Mingle is to present an opportunity to animal lovers to come under one roof to celebrate World Animal Day and return the unconditional love showered by their pets all year round. It will provide the ideal hangout for city pets to spend a delightful Sunday afternoon with their other furry friends, along with their own parents who otherwise due to their busy schedules are unable to spend quality time with them,” says Viral Shah, owner of Bracialeto.

A dog charm

At the event guests can be part of several educative workshops like pet diet, pet behaviour and helping strays in need, which will be conducted by World for All (WFA). There will also be tips on how to make your dog look pretty and your pooches can get fancy hairdos from Janhavi Daftary.

“ Around 10% of the proceeds will be given to WFA as charity for their initiative that attempts to help, rescue and adopt homeless pups froms all across the country,” informs Shah. The event will also have a special adoption pen set up where one can come and give a nice home to stray pups. Apart from this, there will also be a pet bakery (Harley’s Corner) that will provide for home-cooked treats for pets.

Along with that, an animal jewellery collection by Bracialeto, which will include customised pet charms with your pet’s name stamped on different dog silhouettes will also be launched. These charms will come in a special diamond polish and will be offered in a wide variety of shapes and silhouettes that represent popular breeds like German Shepherd, Labrador, Pomeranian, Dachshund Boxer and Doberman among others.

The jewellery collection will also include a range of fun animal beads in Murano glass from buzzing honey bees, lady birds and cute ants to dragonfly, aqua frogs and cute cats. “There will not be any jewellery items for pets since the collection is designed to cater to pet parents expressing their love towards their pets,”u00a0clarified Shah.

World Animal Day was observed first in 1931 at a convention of ecologists in Florence, Italy as a way of highlighting the plight of endangered species. October 4 was chosen as the day as it is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

Several stray pups will be up for adoption at the event, so that they get a nice home
