Jakub Podany put the Antonio Lopez Habas-coached Kolkata ahead in the 11th minute, while Kostas Katsouranis netted for the hosts in the injury time of the first half.

Both teams stayed put in the standings after the result with the Kolkata franchise second (17 points) behind league leaders Chennaiyin FC, while FC Pune City (13 points) are placed 7th in the standings.

Edel saves Kolkata
The hosts had a better say in the proceedings. Fourteen corners compared to just two for their opponents said the story of the game, but Kolkata's 'keeper, Apoula Edel, kept them alive in the game with four spectacular saves in the match.

Kolkata struck as early as in the 11th minute when Jakub Podany nodded home skipper Luis Garcia's centre from the right wing.

Reeling after the goal, Pune took some time to settle, and found their rhythm as the game grew older.

And their perseverance bore fruit in injury time when Kostas unleashed a right volley to net his fourth goal in the ISL. The scoreline remained the same after that, much to the disappointment of the fans.

Atletico will now travel to Delhi to take on the Dynamos on Tuesday while Pune will host Mumbai City FC on Wednesday.
