The Powai police, probing the kidney transplant racket busted on July 14 at Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital, have detained two more accused involved in the case. Sources said that a team has left for Gujarat to bring these two agents to Mumbai.

An officer of the Powai police said that the two agents in Gujarat helped mastermind Vijendra Bisen get the donor, Shobha Thakur (42) - documents were created showing her name was Rekha and she was from south India - for the recipient, Brijkishore Jaiswal (48), the Surat-based textile businessman. The police said that Bisen was a member of many NGOs and samitis. Bisen who had got Sundar Singh — he approached a social worker who complained to police about the surgery at Hiranandani hospital, when he was cheated of his kidney as well — into the business, had also given him a letter head of a doctor, which he could use to forge a hospital document. The police officers said that Singh used to transport these documents in and out of the hospital.
