One person was killed and 40 others were injured on early Sunday morning when two luxury buses collided with each other near Khambatki tunnel on early Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Shivaji Nikam from Thane.
According to police, "The collision happened because two buses were in a same lane. Nikam was killed on the spot while the other 40 passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals."
In another accident, a tanker carrying gas turned upside down after the driver hit the divider on the same Pune-Satara national highway.
According to police, "The driver lost control of the tanker and hit the road divider toppling the vehicle. The accident resulted in heavy traffic chaos. A fire brigade was called immediately to control the situation. We cleared the area only after moving the tanker from the main road.
