Mayuresh Tandel's 165 runs knock helped IES Digamber Patkar (Dadar) to a mammoth 118-run victory over Saraswati Vidyalaya (Thane) in the first round of the boys under-16 Boost Cricket Cup inter-school cricket tournament at Cross Maidan yesterday.
IES got off to a rollicking start with Mayuresh slamming 165 in 134 balls with two sixes and 22 hits to the fence. He was involved in a 175-run partnership for the first wicket with Makarand Chavan, who hit 55.
Digambar Patkar amassed 262 for 8 from their 45 overs and then restricted Saraswati Vidyalaya to 144 for 5 in 45 overs.
