A former model and resident of Bandra has filed a police complaint against her husband, alleging that he had been forcing her to convert to Islam for the past 12 years as per reports by The Hindu. As per a senior Police Inspector Pandit Thackeray, the 42-year-old former model went to the Bandra police station at 2am on Saturday. She had head injuries and he said, The complainant was crying. She told us that her husband, had started resorting to violence after she refused to convert to Islam.”

After filing the complaint, the model was dropped back to her residence in Bandra by an officer . They also issued a notice to her husband. However, as per the police, the man assaulted her when she reached home and even kicked her in the stomach. The woman is now recuperating from internal injuries at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra.
The police added that the former model claimed that her husband was on a mission of ‘Love Jihad’. She also said, in a statement that her husband and his cousin had been saying that every woman who marries a Muslim should convert to Islam. She added that they pressured her and assaulted her with ‘anything they could lay their hands on’ when she refused to convert. She alleged that her husband had even smashed a beer bottle on her head.
Apart from this, the former model also claimed that her husband had married another woman, half his age, four months ago and forced her to convert to Islam as well. To add to it, she says that he would not allow her to meet her seven-year-old son and would teach him to be against other religions. She added, that she was heartbroken when she heard her son telling her that she wasn’t a good person because she did not offer Namaz and chose to follow her Hindu practices.
The lady, even posted a video on social media where she is seen crying and accusing her husband of ‘Love Jihad’. As per the police they have registered a case of domestic violence against the woman’s husband and his cousin under section 354, 323, 324, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code
