North Zone in command in Duleep Trophy

Pacer Ishant Sharma bagged four wickets while leg-spinner Amit Mishra claimed three as North Zone bundled out West Zone for 164 in the first innings on Day Three of the four-day Duleep Trophy tie here at the MA Chidambaram Stadium yesterday.

Ishant (4-29) rattled the opposition top order while Mishra (3-41) polished off the tail in 70.4 overs after tea. Pacer Rishi Dhawan bagged a couple of wickets. North Zone, who enjoy a lead of 320 runs, were 30 for no loss at close on the penultimate day. Rahul Devan (20) and Shikhar Dhawan (8) were the unbeaten batsmen.

Barring Parthiv Patel (51), none of the West batsmen put up any resistance.

North have virtually won the game (through first innings lead) as there is very little chance of an outright win as there is just one day left.u00a0
