Jacqueline Fernandez has dived into the script-reading sessions of Ram Setu. Word is that she is looking at it as an important landmark in her career. Abhishek Sharma’s upcoming directorial venture is a mythological, a genre she has not traversed before. Veteran writer-director Chandraprakash Dwivedi is on board as a creative producer.

Not many would imagine her in such a project, so she has taken it up as a challenge to get the language and nuances right. The film sees her team up with Akshay Kumar and Nushrratt Bharuccha. Fernandez has Attack, Cirkus, Bhoot Police and Bachchan Pandey on the floors, but Ram Setu, which is slated for Diwali 2022, remains extra special.

Actor-producer Akshay Kumar has carved his space with patriotism and socially relevant commentary through mainstream films lately. With Abhishek Sharma's Ram Setu, he is falling back on mythology. Announcing the film on Twitter last year, Akshay had said the endeavour was "to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge (setu) that will connect generations to come". The actor has reportedly sought permission from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to shoot the film in Ayodhya. Akshay will be backing the film too, besides starring.

Jackie recently came back to the city after wrapping up her shoot for the upcoming film "Bachchan Pandey" in Jaisalmer. She stars alongside Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in the action-comedy. The actress will soon be seen in the Salman Khan-starrer Kick 2, the horror-comedy Bhoot Police and Cirkus co-starring Ranveer Singh and Pooja Hegde.
