The Byculla Club Trophy, the feature event of Thursday's seven-race card, has attracted only three runners. The distance of 2,800 meters calls for extra-ordinary stamina, so one of them--Remember Me--is technically ruled out despite the recent scary trend of races with small fields throwing up shock winners.

The two who are expected to last the longish trip are Palatial and Square Moon. Interestingly, there is a line of comparison between the two as both have narrowly beaten a common horse, Mekong Delta, at Pune & Mumbai respectively. However, taking into account the fact that Palatial had tamed Mekong Delta at almost level weights while Square Moon was helped by a substantial difference at the scales gives a decisive edge to Palatial, at least, on paper.

First race at 5 pm.
