Great news for Varun Aaron -- Eden Gardens track expected to be bouncy

Eden Gardens won't be any different from the Wankhede Stadium. As India take on England in the fifth and final ODI In Kolkata today, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is expecting only 24,000 spectators. Till date, only 6000 tickets were sold from counters and the rest of the seats will be taken by complimentary pass holders.

"We are expecting around 24,000 people and this is the first time CAB has seen such a lukewarm response. There can be two reasons for this, first it is a dead rubber and secondly it's on the eve of Kali Pujo (Diwali)," CAB secretary Biswarup Dey told MiD DAY.

However, both India and England reached Kolkata in the afternoon. Suresh Raina and local lad Manoj Tiwary visited the famous Kali Temple in the southern part of the city.

Good wicket
England team director Andy Flower and spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed inspected the pitch at the Eden Gardens and seemed happy with the strip.

"The wicket looks good and bouncy. We are hoping for a good game tomorrow," Mushtaq told MiD DAY while curator Probir Mukherjee said: "It's a new wicket and this will be the first international match on this track.

Both bowlers and batsmen will get help from this pitch." With the pitch looking to have bounce, India's speedster Varun Aaron should be able to capitalise on that. Aaron made a brilliant debut on Sunday claiming three wickets conceding 24 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.
