“This was Ajinkya’s first Test at Lord’s and a green top. At 145 for seven, nobody could imagine he could get a hundred. He swallowed the pressure and injected confidence into the incoming batsmen. Good off the back foot, front foot, square of the wicket and an excellent puller… Ajinkya is a complete player,” said Dravid, who in 1996, missed a hundred on debut here by five runs when he was caught behind by England Jack Russell off pacer Chris Lewis. “It reminds me of 1996 when Sourav Ganguly and I arrived. I didn’t get a hundred, but Sourav got one. I am sure this century will give Ajinkya a lot of confidence,” added Dravid.
