Range of sex toys launched for elderly
A company has launched a range of sex toys for the elderly. Manufacturers Desire and Pleasure are part of sexual health charity FPA and have aimed a new set of naughty gadgets specifically at older and disabled people
With devices like remote-controlled vibrators, penis pumps, and “Kegel devices” - used for exercising weak pelvic floor muscles - they hope to help randy retirees who have trouble using conventional toys.
“We did some research a couple of years ago on older people and the changing nature of their relationships,” the Sun quoted Natika H. Halil, director of information at FPA, as saying.
“There seems to be a particular focus towards younger people in this industry, but you don’t get to 50 and just stop having sex.
“As a charity we want to promote healthy happy sex life for everyone,” Halil said.
The company consulted external experts to design the products, which are similar to mainstream sex toys but more ergonomic and easy to use.
“Older people’s sex lives change – they’re much more intimate and affectionate, so our products reflect that,” Halil said.
“We have things like the Lymo. It’s just a massager, which is very simple to use, very pretty, and just used for the massaging sensation.
“We have everything you would find in a normal sex toy shop, but they are modified differently with enhanced benefits,” Halil added.
The toys were launched online two weeks ago and have already caused a huge surge in traffic to their website.
