Ready to face any threat from China, Pak: Chief marshal

Air Chief Marshal F H Major told journalists that India is emerging as a major aerospace superpower and the success of the air show in hard times of recession is a reflection for that.

He said priority has been given to modernisation, upgradation and sustenance in the Indian air force. He said Indian air force is always ready to answer any call for emergency and the country doesn't have to wait for attacks like 26/11 to respond.
He said India's own indigenously built light combat aircraft will be inducted by 2011.
He justified Air Force in the recent incident in Mumbai Airport where an Air Force VIP helicopter came in the way of an Air India flight about to take off. He claimed that the landing by the copter was done as per instructions. There were no violations by the Air Force VIP helicopter, he claimed.
The Marshal also said that India will narrow down its striking force with advanced fighter jets. He said Indian Air Force satellite will be launched by the middle of next year. India will expand its unmanned air vehicle in a few days. Weaponisation by Pakistan and China won't affect the Indian Air Force as it is ready to answer any calls round the clock.
