Huawei made a big news with the recent launch of Honor 8, an affordable Android smartphone. The budget smartphone marks a unique turning point for Huawei and the company has big expectations from the Honor brand.

Honor 8 has a metal frame with chamfered edges. The metal frame is sandwiched between a glass screen and a glass back. Both the front and back panels are curve in shape, but they do not resemble any similarity with Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge or Galaxy Note 7. The phone is quite interesting to look at when light falls on it from different angles.

The metal frame adds a grip when holding the phone and protects it from falling down. The phone has an arrangement similar to iPhone 7. It has 3.5mm headphone jack, reversible USB Type-C connector along with a row of drilled holes.

Huawei has done an excellent job with the camera arrangement in Honor 8. The backside has 12MP cameras coupled with f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.25 microns. The company claims that Honor 8 delivers professional quality bright coloured sharp photos. Unfortunately, the image capture speed decreases when there is less light. Here arrives the need of dual-tone LED flash. At the front, it is packed by 8 MP camera. Honor 8’s IPS LCD screen is pretty bright and vibrant. As it is powered by 4GB RAM, users can save multimedia files and play Android games with ease. It has a fast processor, which makes the device more user friendly.

Honor 8 has 3,000mAh battery, which exceeds the battery life of many expensive smartphones. Once charged, the phone can be used more than one and a half days. All taken care of, Honor 8 can be considered to be a pocket friendly phone with almost every feature similar to the plush high end smartphones.
