Shah's ton keeps Mumbai in hunt
An unbeaten ton from Hiken Shah along with half centuries from Aditya Tare (80) and Rohit Sharma (79) helped Mumbai consolidate their position against Rajasthan on Day Three of the Ranji Trophy Group A match
Shah, who ended the day unbeaten on 118, led Mumbai to a commanding score of 360 for three at stumps. Mumbai now need only 118 runs with seven wickets still in hand to take the crucial first innings lead.
Openers Tare and Kaustubh Pawar (53), who resumed at the overnight score of 76 for no loss, added 47 runs to the Mumbai total before Pawar fell to an Aniket Choudhary delivery.
Tare added another 37 runs to his overnight score before being dismissed by pacer Pankaj Singh. Shah and Rohit Sharma then joined hands and took the Mumbai innings forward before Rituraj Singh finally broke the partnership. Shah, batting on 118 off 245 balls with the help of 15 boundaries, is still holding the fort for Mumbai in the company of night watchman Kshemal Waingankar (7).
