New Delhi: Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan has joined the micro-blogging site 'Twitter' under the username SDhawan25.


The left-handed opener, who is now play in the ongoing first Test against Australia in Adelaide, greeted his fans with his first tweet, saying "Guys I'm finally on twitter! Really excited to connect with everyone on here :).

The message was re-tweeted 133 times and was favourited 205 times. His twitter handle has garnered over 2400 followers in the first few days.

Before his first-class debut for Delhi in 2004, Shikhar played for India Under -17 and Under-19 teams. He made his ODI debut against Australia in October 2010 at Visakhapatnam.

In March 2013, he made his Test debut against Australia at Mohali, where he scored the fastest century by any bastsman on Test debut (85 balls).

In November, Shikhar became the fastest Indian batsman to reach the 2000-run mark in ODIs.
