Shoeb claims four to help Anjuman stun Rizvi in Coca Cola Cup

Anjuman-I-Islam English's (CST) left-arm spinner Shoeb Khan's four for 25, including a fine hat-trick, saw the CST team clinch the Mumbai leg of the U-16 inter-school Coca Cola Cup with a five-wicket win over defending champs Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) yesterday

Anjuman’s decision to put Rizvi in to bat, proved spot-on as the Bandra school lost openers Prithvi Shaw (1) and Navneet Singh (0) early. Siddharth Singh and Armaan Jaffer’s 78-run third-wicket stand helped Rizvi recover.u00a0

Shoeb scalped Rizvi’s Armaan (46), Piyush Nath (0) and Azim Shaikh (0) for his hat-trick, besides also claiming the wicket of skipper Usama Parker (19) as they were bowled out for 202 in 44.1 overs.


Anjuman opener Aman Farooqui (67) and skipper Mehboob Shaikh (62) later guided Anjuman to victory with seven balls to spare. Anjuman were awarded Rs 50,000 for their effort while Rizvi took home Rs 35,000.
