"Nail art is something to be shunned by South Korean men, but I was successful when I had it on my thumbnails just for luck before leading the youth team at an Asian international event in May," Chung Jeong-Seok, 33, told AFP.

Chung has a decorative South Korean flag on one thumb and the Asian Games emblem on the other.

South Korea have won six medals on the track including gold in the men's team sprint.
