British Prime Minister Theresa May is still waiting to get her Tupperware back from Geoffrey Boycott, but insists her admiration for the stoic batsman remains intact nonetheless.

May told BBC radio's Test Match Special (TMS) programme that Boycott's famed resilience is a quality she has long revered.

The PM made clear too she is not about to change her view of Boycott over an unreturned plastic tub or the chocolate brownies inside it — which were intended as a gift on a previous visit to the TMS team but, she suspects, never made it quite that far.

May, who once again arrived with brownies for staff in the TMS box on a short trip to the cricket between political engagements and meetings, still wonders what exactly happened to the last batch after giving them to Boycott. "I've baked them for TMS before, and handed them to Geoffrey," she said.

"But I don't know if they ever made it into the TMS box. Geoffrey Boycott still has my Tupperware."
