Actress Sridevi paid tribute to the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Twitter. Sridevi tweeted an old picture from the Tamil film 'Aathi Parasakthi' where she performed as a child artist along with Jayalalithaa.

'Aathi Parasakthi' was a 1971 Tamil devotional film in which Jayalalithaa played the lead role of Goddess Sakthi and Sridevi appeared as Lord Murugan.

Sridevi took to Twitter to condole the demise of Jayalalithaa and shared a rare picture from their film.

Sridevi remembered Jayalalithaa for being the most articulate, dignified, cultured and caring lady. Here is what she tweeted with the picture:

J Jayalalithaa, one of India's most revered political leaders, died in Chennai on Monday night after a bitter 74-day battle for life, ending an era in Tamil Nadu politics and plunging the state in deep grief. She was 68.

Jayalalithaa, a spinster, breathed her last at the Apollo Hospital just before midnight, over 24 hours after she suffered a cardiac arrest that derailed the halting progress she had been making on the health front.
