Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Pratap Singh, posted at Pisanva police station in the Netakheda village, allegedly sodomised the boy, who was acting as a night watchman in place of his father, who was taken unwell, a home department spokesman said.

The father of the victim registered a case with the police, after which Singh was sent to jail.
