The Football Association of Wales is considering approaching Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs to take over as their new manager.

The position of Wales manager was left vacant after the tragic demise of their former boss Gary Speed.

Wales chiefs consider Giggs as a natural successor to Speed and want him to become the national boss out of respect to Speed and his family.

"Ryan has never managed but he is been seen as a natural successor to Gary. At 38, he's the right age to be on the same wavelength as our young team," The Sun quoted an insider from Wales, as saying.

Mark Hughes also started his managerial career as Wales boss and went on to have a prosperous career.

Wales would be playing their next game as a friendly with Costa Rica on February 29 and hope that they will get a new manager by that time.

Meanwhile, Giggs is already pondering his future and he may be offered another one year contract after this season by Manchester United which would mean that he will be only available for part time.
