A stationary car on went up in flames, supposedly due to a short circuit near Lala Lajpatrai College, Haji Ali at around 6.30 pm on Wednesday, which caused heavy traffic jam in the area.

As per the fire officials, the vehicle was parked beside a road near the college when suddenly it caught fire. “We are not sure about the cause of the fire but short circuit might have led to the fire,” said an officer from the fire department.
Fire department was called at the spot, and doused off the fire quickly, after which the traffic was brought to normalcy.
"There was no one in the car or surrounding areas so no one got injured in the accident. We doused the car within 20 minutes. We have removed the car from the spot," said an officer from fire department.
