Gold prices rise slightly even as global cues stay weak and silver slips

Gold prices in India saw a minor rise on Tuesday despite weak global cues and a stronger US dollar. In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,25,500 for 10 grams, while silver slipped with MCX December contracts down 0.38 per cent to Rs 1,55,424 per kg

Gold and silver prices, after experiencing a fall on Monday in the domestic futures market, strengthened the US dollar while keeping global cues weak. 

However, as far as the prices of gold in India are concerned, the prices did experience a minor hike as compared to Monday. During the early hours of Tuesday, gold prices in Mumbai were staged at Rs 1,25,550 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold. 


Silver prices also slipped, with MCX Silver December contracts down 0.38 per cent at Rs 1,55,424 per kg, reported IANS. 



While asserting about the global market cues, one of the market experts asserted, "Gold has support at USD 4,035-4000 while resistance is at USD 4,115-4,140. Silver has support at USD 50.30-49.85, while resistance is at USD 51.25-51.50," as cited by news agency IANS.

While the dollar index gained 0.14 per cent, a stronger US currency made the yellow metal costlier for buyers.

Gold Prices in Mumbai

The price for 10 grams of 24-carat gold on Tuesday was recorded at Rs 1,25,500; the 22-carat gold during the early hours of Monday was priced at Rs 1,15,100 for 10 grams. 

Gold Price in Delhi

The national capital is one of the jewellery shopping hubs across the nation. The prices of gold in Delhi have been marginally corrected on Monday. The price of 24-carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,25,690 for 10 grams. At the same time, the 22-carat gold price was recorded at Rs 1,15,240.  

Gold Prices in Kolkata

Kolkata has been a place that offers some really mesmerising jewellery, thanks to the sheer craftsmanship offered by the local artisans. Known for great gold craftsmanship on gold jewellery, the price of gold saw a marginal decrease on Monday in Kolkata. The 24-carat gold prices in Kolkata were recorded at Rs 1,25,530 for 10 grams. At the same time, the 22-carat gold prices were recorded at Rs 1,15,080.

Silver prices also reflect mild movement

Apart from gold, silver is another popular precious metal for investment and ornamentation, especially in culturally strong markets. Silver on Tuesday also saw a decent price movement. During the early hours, silver was priced at Rs 1,51,688 per kilogram.
