Boutique hotels India
In recent years, boutique hotels have become increasingly popular among travelers who value personalized and memorable stays. Unlike traditional accommodations, these properties emphasize comfort, exclusivity, and exceptional service. With curated amenities, cozy yet sophisticated stays, and a focus on guest satisfaction, boutique hotels deliver more than just a room-they create experiences. Many also cater to niche preferences, from wellness retreats and art-inspired stays to eco-conscious travel, attracting guests seeking unique journeys.

Midday team spoke with Mr. Akaal Singh Manchanda, Founder and Director of Zuper Hotels & Resorts, to understand how the brand is setting new benchmarks in luxury hospitality.
- Could you tell us about Zuper Hotels & Resorts, its offerings, and the markets it operates in across India? Also, what inspired your journey into the hospitality industry?
A young hotel management company is currently managing some of India's most unique resorts. With a history of over a decade, Zuper stands as a competitive brand that takes hold of every department. It is a one-stop solution for anyone looking for hospitality across various levels, strategically planning, marketing, branding, and enhancing every facility to provide premier experiences. To date, it has several firsts to its credit, thanks to innovative brand engagement and an enthralling appeal that engages the right audiences.
- What have been some of the key challenges or obstacles Zuper has faced during its growth, and how has the company managed to overcome them?
Of course, entering an industry with numerous large players is a challenging move. We’ve faced many challenges and continue to do so across all operations, whether it be strategizing, marketing, or any other specific domain of hotel management. However, having the proper perspective on challenges is essential. They should be visualised as fresh opportunities to prove your calibre and not let others devalue you.
- What sets Zuper Hotels & Resorts apart from other players in the hospitality sector? How do you ensure consistency in guest experience across multiple properties?
Zuper organizes nature-centric facilities and includes unique stay experiences that truly keep the guests engaged. From wildlife safaris, island stays, and thrilling adventures to signature experiences, the company has always considered distinctiveness a part of its agenda. Managing some of the country's best conceptual resorts, the menu of properties is diverse, sometimes even leaving guests wondering what to choose. We brand the hotels and resorts with their own names without overshadowing them over the group names or international group chains. Our flexibility & business process are indeed add-ons for people who wish to build a known name in the hotel industry. We focus on providing experiential hospitality to our clientele while also making the hotel/resort a valuable asset of goodwill for the owners.
- With the growing demand for staycations and workations, how is Zuper Hotels capitalizing on this trend?
We offer special packages and flexible extended stays where longer duration discounts take precedence. We also make “workations” more appealing, combining them with wellness activities.
- What opportunities do you see in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities for hospitality growth?
Zuper aims to expand its presence to highlight the otherwise overlooked specialties of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The idea is to explore the rugged interiors of India, which offer scenic beauty and breathtaking vistas yet to be discovered. We want to delve deeper into hospitality in these cities, as major companies often overlook these areas, but they do have significant potential.
We aim to expand to 25 brands under our umbrella by the end of the financial year 2025-26.
- Could you share insights into the growth of Zuper Hotels & Resorts over the past few years? What strategies are you adopting to expand your portfolio and tap into new markets?
Zuper is soon set to steal the limelight with its highly anticipated Stone Water Resort & Spa in Karjat. The resort encompasses 126 rooms, 30 of which have private access to pools. Guests can also enjoy a two-tier swimming pool spanning 120 ft, overlooking the river. A banquet area of 12,000 sq. ft. is apt for weddings and events. Another upcoming resort, which is soon to become popular, contains a lazy river. Additionally, guests can choose a resort overlooking the Sahyadri Range, featuring 12 exclusive rooms on 4 acres of land. Thus, Zuper sets different sets of unique standards with our distinctive hospitality strategies. In the next five years, we are poised to improve the levels of stay, tourism, and hospitality.
