Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 23: Actor and model Indu Prasad is all set to make a strong impact on the big screen with her upcoming film Bisaahee, releasing on 25th September 2025. The film, directed by Abhinav Thakur, is inspired by true events and tackles the chilling superstition of Daayan Pratha, shining a light on the struggles of women who dare to stand against oppressive traditions.
In Bisaahee, Indu plays parallel lead as Asha, a fearless village girl determined to fight injustice and challenge deep-rooted beliefs. Many sequences were filmed in authentic locations, including a shamshan ghat in a small village near Ahmedabad. Recalling her experience, Indu shared, “Shooting near the shamshan ghat was both thrilling and scary. The environment brought a realism to the scenes that you simply cannot replicate on a set.”
Originally from Bihar and born in Goa, Indu grew up in a disciplined household, with her father serving in the Indian Navy. Because of her father’s career, she lived in many different states, which she believes has helped her tremendously in understanding diverse cultures and human behaviour - a skill that has enriched her acting. “The Navy life taught me discipline and resilience, and living in different parts of India gave me insight into people’s emotions and interactions. These experiences have been invaluable in shaping my approach to acting,” she said.
Over the years, Indu has built a versatile career spanning films, web series, television, theatre, advertising, and modeling. She gained notable recognition in Criminal Justice 2 (Behind Closed Doors) on Jio Hotstar, portraying Rajjo, a pregnant stoner-druggist, under the guidance of Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukerjee. On television, she appeared as Aarti in Ek Mahanayak Dr B. R. Ambedkar.
Indu has also been a prominent face in advertising, appearing in over 35 campaigns for leading brands, including Facebook, Mutual Fund Sahi Hai, SBI, PhonePe, and Smule, while also modeling for international names such as American Tourister.
Reflecting on her role in Bisaahee, she said, “Asha’s character is more than just a role; it is a story of courage and resilience. I wanted to bring authenticity and strength to her journey, representing the women who quietly battle superstitions every day.”
As the release date approaches, expectations are high for Indu Prasad’s performance in a film that promises to be a gripping, socially relevant, and emotionally charged drama.
