1. What inspired the launch of the Avas Wellness Center & Spa, and how does it align with your vision for wellness-led luxury living?

The Avas Wellness Center & Spa was born out of a simple but powerful idea, that true luxury is the ability to slow down, recharge, and live with intention. Our vision has always been to create spaces that go beyond aesthetics, offering experiences that genuinely improve quality of life. The Wellness Center is the heart of our first community that embodies this philosophy, where design, service, and treatments all work in harmony to nurture both body and mind.

2. In a market full of wellness offerings, what makes Avas’ approach truly stand out?

We don’t view wellness as an add-on; it’s the foundation of everything we do. From the way our villas are designed for natural light and ventilation, to our world-class facilities and personalised programs, every touchpoint is intentional. We also integrate wellness into daily living and not just as a retreat experience, so residents and guests can access it as part of their everyday life.

3. How do you blend ancient traditions with modern science in your treatments and experiences?

Our approach is rooted in the belief that tradition and innovation are not opposing forces, but complementary ones. We draw on the wisdom of Ayurveda, yoga, and other ancient practices, then elevate them with the precision of modern therapies like cryotherapy, infrared saunas, and advanced recovery techniques. This combination ensures our guests receive the benefits of time-tested rituals with the efficacy of contemporary science.

4. Why was Alibaug chosen as the anchor location for your wellness ecosystem?

Alibaug offers a rare balance of accessibility and natural beauty. It’s close enough to Mumbai for quick escapes yet feels worlds away from the city’s pace. The coastal environment, abundant greenery, and growing infrastructure make it an ideal backdrop for a wellness-led community. We wanted to create a place where people could live or retreat without compromising on connectivity or lifestyle.

5. How do you see this center influencing Alibaug’s luxury real estate landscape?

I believe the Wellness Center will redefine what it means to own a luxury home in Alibaug. It’s no longer just about architecture or location, it’s about the lifestyle that comes with it. By offering world-class wellness infrastructure, we’re setting a new benchmark for second-home communities in India and positioning Alibaug as a global destination for conscious living.

6. What role does lifestyle retail, like The Shop at Avas, play in enhancing the overall guest experience?

The Shop at Avas allows guests, residents, and the wider community to take home wellness products, artisanal goods, and curated lifestyle items. It’s a natural extension of our ecosystem, supporting mindful consumption and introducing brands that reflect our values of quality, sustainability, and wellbeing. Proceeds also support the Avas Foundation, a circular initiative uplifting the Alibaug community through education, culture, and local engagement, ensuring that every purchase gives back in a meaningful way.

7. Can you share how spaces like the Room of Wonderment and the Avas Racquet Club reflect your vision of holistic living?

Both spaces are designed to engage different dimensions of wellness. The Room of Wonderment is about mental clarity and sensory immersion, encouraging mindfulness and creativity, while the Avas Racquet Club promotes physical vitality, social connection, and active recreation. Together, they reflect our belief that holistic living requires nourishing the mind, body, and community.

8. Looking ahead, how do you see India’s luxury wellness and hospitality space evolving over the next five years?

I see India moving toward more integrated, lifestyle-driven wellness models, where people aren’t just booking a spa day, but choosing to live in environments that support their wellbeing year-round. The demand for bespoke, high-quality experiences will grow, and the line between home, hospitality, and wellness will blur. Those who can merge design, service, and substance will define the next wave of luxury living.
