They are the secret artistes behind the beautful looks of actors in movies such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara and the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, to name a few. Virginia Holmes and Natasha Nischol, founders of Fat Mu Make-Up Company met on a ‘business blind date’ through mutual friends.
Fat Mu is an amalgamation of two cultures — English and Indian. Holmes says, “The main source of our influence has been our mutual love of travel. This helps in understanding different sensibilities and aesthetics.” The duo shares the beauty trends of the year 2014.

Wearing the trends of 2014
For summer use products that stay put in the heat — waterproof mascaras, cheek and lip stains and silicon-based eye products. Here are some tips:
>> Pastel eyeshadow is difficult to translate onto Indian skin so choose a coloured eye liner instead.
>> Go to town with orange lips. Matt it down for a sophisticated New York look and wear it in the day and not just at night.
>> Au naturel is always in vogue. Use light, minimal products. An invisible blush and lip tint with subtle lashes is a lovely day look.
>> Be careful with the rolled-out-of-bed look. Wash your hair at night, blast dry it and tie it up with a band. Open it in the morning and run your fingers through your hair. A spritz of sea-salt spray will add the wow factor. Make-up can be smudged black around the eyes with a hint of mascara. Remember, you’re just out of bed so don’t overdo it.
