Shrivastav beats Vishal Dadlani to duet with R&B star
Vishal Dadlani intended to record a duet with American R&B superstar Akon for Ra1, but Aadesh Shrivastav has beaten him to it.
On Wednesday night, Aadesh became the first Indian artiste to actually record a song with Akon. The track entitled 'One For The World' was recorded at Icon Studios, Atlanta, USA. Composed by Aadesh, it features vocals by Aadesh, his seven-year-old son Avitesh and Akon.
I've done it
Aadesh called from Atlanta at 3 am (American time) to share the news, "We have been working together for three years now. We've done live gigs on stage together. He loves Indian music, especially dhol Punjabi beats. We were waiting for the right opportunity to record together. It has finally happened. Other Indian artistes have just been talking about collaborating with Akon and other American icons. I think I'm the first one to actually do so," gushed Aadesh.
Peace, y'all!
Says Aadesh, "Our coming-together was better than I had hoped. Akon sang the Hindi words as well and my son did a rap passage he wrote himself, in the track."
He continues, "Akon is expected to fly in sometime next month for live concerts with me. We want to promote 'One For The World' as the ultimate peace song."
