Both will play revolutionary Surya Sen in two different historicals
It is well known that Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead role of Surya Sen in Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, which is based on the Chittagong uprising of 1930. But now, US-based filmmaker Bedabrata Pain, has decided to make a film on the same uprising and has cast Manoj Bajpai as Sen. So two intense actors of Bollywood will be seen playing the same martyred revolutionary in two films that will both release this year.
It seems Bollywood just doesn't learn from its mistakes. In 2002, four films were released on Bhagat Singh and all four were box office disasters. Later, when Sushmita Sen decided to make a film on Rani Jhansi, other filmmakers too jumped on to the bandwagon. Sush then dropped the idea and so did the others.

Surya Sen was the leading force behind the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. he devised a plan to raid the armouries of the police and the auxiliary forces in Chittagong (now in Bangladesh). Two groups captured the armouries of the two forces, but were unable to locate ammunition. They then destroyed communication lines and disrupted train services. The revolutionaries hid in the hills, but were soon attacked by the British.u00a0 Sen then helped survivors escape by dividing them into smaller groups. However, a traitor gave his location to the British and Sen was caught. He was hanged in 1934.
