Next month it will be a year since Shiney Ahuja was accused of rape by hisu00a0 housemaid. However, the ghosts of his past continue to haunt the actor. Recently the leading lady of his film Shunya, Vaishali Desai, walked out of the project because she didn't want to work opposite him.

Change
The project was initially offered to Adhyayan Suman. But later they decided to go ahead with Shiney. Vaishali heard about the change and made it clear that she wasn't happy with their choice of hero. It is learnt that the producers weren't convinced that Adhyayan was the best person for this role. So they approached Shiney. They wanted someone who was more mature and better known.

However, once they signed the accused actor, the leading lady bid adieu to the project. A source close to her reveals, "She comes from a very conservative background and doesn't want to be associated with Shiney. She reasoned that she wouldn't be comfortable working with him. She thought it would be a bad move for her to be cast opposite him."

Vaishali confirms that she is no longer in the film. "I have opted out of Shunya, and it's because of some personal reasons I don't wish to reveal. It's true that the film was first offered to Adhyayan, but later on they decided to go ahead with Shiney."
