The biggest amount the corporate house is asking back for is Rs 38 crores, from director Ram Gopal Varma. Ramu had a five-film deal with BIG and it's been over two years and the films haven't been made. RGV and BIG came together for Sarkar Raj, but the film wasn't part of the deal.
A source in the industry says, "Ramu signed up with them when Manmohan Shetty was running the show at BIG. But after he left, there was no progress. Now Shetty has floated his own company."
Most of the filmmakers who have received notices had signed up with the production house when Manmohan Shetty was heading the company. Now Shetty is the president of the Guild. The notices that have gone out bear his signature.
