About his birthday, he mentioned that his grand daughter Aaradhya sang happy birthday for him. His wife Jaya and daughter-in-law Aishwarya were with Big B to bring in his birthday. While Abhishek flew in from New York to be with him on his big day.

Big B states in his blog, “A strange calmness descends on the eve of the clock that strikes 12 midnight.. The family, few that are in town, bring in the greetings, the ‘little one’ ably tutored sings a ‘happy birthday’ to herself first, and then, after suitable prompting, to me... it’s these little moments that make up a birthday.” Big B also mentioned how cricket will not be the same without Sachin Tendulkar. “Sachin is the heart of cricket. He is a phenomenal athlete. Cricket will not be the same without Sachin,” he said.
