However, after the show, many fans shared videos online, saying they were left "disappointed" and criticised the singer for poor crowd management. While some fans alleged that sprinklers were only available in the Fan Zone and not in the VIP or General areas, others claimed there were long queues to buy water. A few also said that some fans fainted due to the heat and the crowd. In a viral video, a fan complained about spending Rs 6,000 on a ticket just to faint thrice due to the scorching sun and having to drink ORS to recover. In another video, a fan criticised the organisers, claiming she could not even catch a single glimpse of Karan Aujla because there were no large screens, and the stage was too far away, even for those in the VIP section.  Karan did not address the complaints directly, but on Instagram, he wrote, "Bombay, I think we need to add a night concert. Asha Bhosle death: Mai Director revisits moment he saw actor in the music icon

Asha Bhosle’s penchant for reinvention was never quite restricted to singing. At 79, the veteran singer expanded her art and made her acting debut with the Hindi film, Mai (2013), directed by Mahesh Kodiyal. When mid-day reached out to the director, currently based in Las Vegas, he expressed his sadness at the passing of the legend. “It’s shattering news. Having Ashaji in my film was a milestone in my life,” he said. Casting Bhosle as an Alzheimer’s patient in the Padmini Kolhapure-starrer was an unusual choice. Was it the director’s gut feeling that led him to cast her instead of an actor? Almost, said Kodiyal, adding, “In the concept stage, I wove in a lullaby to be sung by Ashaji. On the day of recording it, while I was narrating the song’s situation to her, I realised that I had discovered my actress in my singer. Ashaji’s enthusiasm and passion during the workshop and shooting were unmatched. Her dedication to match or outdo her co-stars was extraordinary.” Asha Bhosle and Sachin Tendulkar. Pic/Rajeev Tyagi The late singer’s sincerity extended to her acting too. Recalling his fondest memory with her, Kodiyal shared, “For a scene where I had to film Ashaji in torrential rain, she sat patiently in drenched clothes through several retakes without complaining. After the shot was okayed, she was shivering. Yet, she asked me if I wanted a retake. I couldn’t resist touching her feet [seeing] her dedication.”

Wheel of Fortune to go off-air?

Is Akshay Kumar's Wheel of Fortune going off air due to low TRP?

The US show Wheel of Fortune holds the Guinness World Records title as the World’s Most Popular TV Game Show, has won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show, and has been recognised by Variety Magazine as the Most-Watched Entertainment Show on American Television. In January 2026, Akshay Kumar made his return to television by stepping in as the host of Wheel of Fortune India. He brought the game show to India in a high-energy avatar, combining quick thinking, banter, high-stakes gameplay, and non-stop entertainment.  Is Wheel Of Fortune Going Off-Air? However, since its inception, the show has remained an entertaining attraction among viewers. Now, there are reports that Wheel of Fortune may soon go off-air, raising questions about whether low TRPs are to blame. An article by Telly Express report that said that Akshay Kumar’s hosted show is set to go off-air later this month. According to the reports, the show is being pulled off air by Sony Entertainment Television due to its inability to generate the expected traction. Despite featuring several celebrity guests, Wheel of Fortune reportedly managed to garner only around 0.5–0.7 TRP.  However, the truth is that the show is going off air as the season comes to an end. Following the season finale, Akshay's game show will reportedly be replaced by a different reality game show Tum Ho Naa, which will be hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal. Tum Ho Naa to replace Wheel of Fortune? Earlier, mid-day had reported that actor Rajeev Khandelwal would be making his television comeback with Tum Ho Naa, 14 years after he hosted Sachh ka Saamna. Now, the latest reports suggest that Tum Ho Naa is slated to premiere from April 28 onwards and will air at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV, replacing Wheel of Fortune. Speaking about hosting Tum Ho Naa, Rajeev Khandelwal said, “Over the years, I’ve been offered so many kinds of roles, some experimental, some quite unconventional. But I’ve always chosen to follow my heart and be part of something that genuinely feels meaningful to me. With the show Tum Ho Naa, I am happy to return to television with Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV and bring a beautiful show that is really close to my heart.”

Anurag Kashyap and Piyush Mishra

Piyush Mishra reveals he does not talk to Anurag Kashyap, Naseeruddin Shah

Veteran actor-singer Piyush Mishra has worked with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on a cult classic, Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), together. However, his recent statements indicate that the two have never shared a good or even cordial bond off-screen. Known for their strong personalities and voicing their unfiltered views, they have often found themselves at odds. Not only Kashyap, Piyush also shares a similar equation with Naseeruddin Shah. Piyush Mishra on Anurag Kashyap During a recent interaction with Shubhankar Mishra, Piyush Mishra was asked to choose between Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap as a collaborator. He quickly answered without a thought, saying, “Imtiaz Ali, any day. He is a great director and writes amazing scripts. I feel immense satisfaction after working with him." Meanwhile, talking of Anurag Kashyap, he further added, "Anurag also does it, but… How shall I define Anurag Kashyap for you? Why does he talk so much? He does wrong to himself unnecessarily. You should either do good to yourself or the other person, but he doesn’t even think of himself. That’s his problem," he said. Mishra further went on to describe his working relationship with Kashyap, clarifying that while creative alignment exists, they are not at all compatible on a personal level. “If you are going against something, then there should at least give results. The main thing is that he knows he won’t get any result, he still speaks a lot. Mujhe zabardast virodh hai usse. We barely communicate – I can’t talk to him for a longer period, and neither can he. We don’t talk, only shoot for films. But, we work well together, we both know what we want. He also used to abuse me earlier, but only I do it now," Piyush said. Piyush Mishra on his equation with Naseeruddin Shah Piyush Mishra went on to open up about another complicated relationship within the industry. He named Naseeruddin Shah as someone he does not get along with. “I don’t have good relations with Naseer. Neither I like him, nor he likes me. And, if both the parties don’t like each other, then it becomes an ideal stage to not talk, because you both know that you don’t like each other, so there’s just no need to talk," he said.

Bhooth Bangla: Obscene words, degrading reference to women replaced

Akshay Kumar's upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, helmed by Priyadarshan, has cleared the censorship cut days ahead of its release. However, the film was cleared only after making some changes and cutting as much as 10 minutes from the film. The makers, after making the changes, reportedly received their certificate on April 2, after which they went back to the CBFC voluntarily to make additional cuts. Bhooth Bangla list of changes The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate, indicating that children below the age of 16 will need parental guidance to watch it. Before giving the certificate, the CBFC's Examining Committee reportedly flagged several issues in the film and ordered changes to the same.  The CBFC objected on multiple fronts before clearing the film for release. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the board flagged an obscene word used at 26 minutes and ordered it to be replaced. Similarly, another set of obscene words appearing around an hour into the film was also asked to be changed. Towards the end of the film, an obscene word in the subtitles was ordered to be removed entirely. Beyond the objections over obscene words, the CBFC also raised an issue with a denigrating reference to women in the first half of the film. The makers were asked to replace the part with something more appropriate. Additionally, the CBFC directed the makers to add clear disclaimers for all religious and superstitious references made throughout the film. After all these changes were made to the CBFC's satisfaction, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers on April 2, clearing the film ahead of its theatrical release on April 17, 2026. Bhooth Bangla final runtime Even after receiving the certificate, the makers reportedly returned to the CBFC with a fresh set of voluntary cuts a few days later. The CBFC accepted these additional changes on April 11. The makers reportedly trimmed 63 scenes from the film, with most cuts being small. The biggest single cut accounted for 72 seconds, a full 1 minute and 12 seconds, which was a scene in the song O Sundari, which was deleted entirely. Another 27 seconds were also cut from the song O Re O Sawariya. The cuts in these two songs alone accounted for a significant portion of the total runtime decrease. With all the cuts together, the runtime was brought down by 10 minutes and 5 seconds. The final revised runtime of Bhooth Bangla stands at 164.52 minutes, which is 2 hours, 44 minutes and 52 seconds.
