He features in the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi as Bajirao II. When Dippy shifted to Mumbai from hometown Bengaluru, the two were said to be in a live-in relationship. Deepika bagged Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Om Shanti Om (2007) while Nihar got left behind.
There was talk that buddy Himesh Reshammiya would launch him after he featured in the I Love You Sayonee music video. Later, Nihar was rumoured to be in a relationship with Gauahar Khan.
