Salman Khan has a newfound passion antiques. The actor has started purchasing antique pieces. Especially murals and art works on glass and large picture frames.
A source reveals, "It was while reading a book on painting that he learnt the importance of choosing the right frame for a painting. A chapter in the book talked about antique frames, and how much difference it could make to the final product."
No fakes, please
The first antique he purchased was an old classic portrait frame. As he started looking for interesting frames, he developed an interest in other pieces as well. He keeps most of the stuff he collects at his Panvel farm house."
Salman has now also been reading up on how to make sure that the stuff he is buying is genuine and not fake. Most of the time he sends his friends to anitique shops, after selecting stuff from catalogues and off the net. He prefers not to go personally.
The source adds, "There have been occasions when Salman has called up a friend and told him to get the artifact that he wants.

People close to the actor wonder if this new addiction will last, as it is not only a very costly extravagance but antiques require proper care and need to maintained."
The source continues, "Salman has even discussed picking up antiques on his trips abroad. "He has been asking friends for suggestions of which places are good.
