Vir Das reacts to MP using his Two Indias reference in Parliament

A few years ago, comedian and actor, Vir Das, left the country divided with his infamous monologue 'Two Indias' where he spoke about the contrasting realities of the country. The monologue was recently used as a reference by a TMC MP, Abhishekh Banerjee, during his Lok Sabha speech, years later. Vir has reactedto the use of his monologue being used by the MP. Vir Das on Two Indias reference in Parliament Vir shared a video on X, and wrote, "In PARLIAMENT? Really? This happened last night (sic)." During his speech, Abhishek mentioned that in November 2021, thousands of miles away from India at the Kennedy Centre, Vir Das spoke about two Indias. While some laughed, some were clearly offended. The MP further said, “Few paused to listen, but what he offered was not comedy. It was a warning, a prophecy, a mirror held up to a nation standing at the edge of its own contradictions because I, too, sir, come from two Indias.” In PARLIAMENT? Really? This happened last night. pic.twitter.com/6QuMcGIsg2 — Vir Das (@thevirdas) February 11, 2026 Reacting to Abhishek's speech line by line, Vir said, “In Parliament you…? Oh, crap. I am sorry, this is happening on the floor of parliament? Don’t do it. I remember some people laughed. (laughs) Sorry, some who were offended? Who? Who paused to listen? On the floor of Parliament?” “That’s what every single newspaper said, that it wasn’t (comedy). I’m sorry, you got a warning. No, I got a warning. Many warnings. A prophecy? In Parliament? No, it felt like broken glass. No, it was hiding in my house for a really long time. Where were you then?," the Happy Patel actor added. Concluding the video, Vir revealed that he is leaving the country and subtly announced his next world tour, saying that it is the right time to announce it. MP Abhishek Banerjee reacts Vir's video soon grabbed everyone's attention, including Abhishek Banerjee, who tweeted, "Ah, the beauty of two Indias- in one, a comedian is questioned for talking about the ‘TWO INDIA’ divide. In the other, the same debate becomes the perfect PR for a tour announcement. Democracy does have a sense of humour. Wishing you house full shows and a smashing tour ahead!" Vir Das was last seen in the film Happy Patel, which was released in January 2026. Notably, the film marked his directorial debut.

Shreyas Talpade

Shreyas Talpade booked by UP police for duping villagers in a scam worth lakhs

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has landed in legal trouble after an FIR was registered against him and 12 others in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district over an alleged investment scam. The complaint claims that several villagers were cheated out of lakhs of rupees after being persuaded to put their money into a scheme that promised unusually high returns. All about the case According to reports, the accused allegedly promoted the investment as part of a Mumbai based banking venture that was said to be operating locally in the Bhogaon area. Residents were encouraged to invest their savings with assurances that the funds would multiply over time. However, when investors later attempted to withdraw their money, they were reportedly unable to do so, raising suspicions about the legitimacy of the operation. One of the affected individuals eventually approached the court, which directed the police to register a case and begin a formal investigation into the matter. Authorities have now launched a probe to determine the roles and responsibilities of all those named in the FIR. Officials are expected to question the accused and examine financial records to understand how the scheme functioned and whether deliberate misrepresentation took place. The case has drawn significant attention due to Talpade’s public profile and long standing presence in the entertainment industry. All about Shreyas Talpade Known for his breakthrough performance in Iqbal, Talpade later gained widespread popularity through films such as the Golmaal series and has worked across Hindi and Marathi cinema as an actor, director, and producer. While his professional journey has earned him recognition, the allegations have shifted focus to his off screen associations. Reports suggest this is not the first time the actor’s name has surfaced in connection with financial misconduct claims. He was previously linked to another alleged investment fraud involving a cooperative society accused of luring villagers with promises of high returns. Investigations in that matter were ongoing. As the inquiry progresses, authorities aim to establish the facts and determine accountability. The allegations have raised concerns about fraudulent investment schemes and serve as a reminder for investors to exercise caution before committing their savings.

Siddhant Chaturvedi

Siddhant Chaturvedi: 'Gen Z isn't confused in love, it's evolved'

Siddhant Chaturvedi has weighed in on the ongoing debate around modern relationships, firmly stating that “Gen Z isn’t confused in love, this isn’t a generational issue, it’s evolution.” The actor shared how the dynamics of romance have drastically changed in the age of social media. Siddhant Chaturvedi shares his thoughts on modern love According to him, what many perceive as confusion is actually a shift in how love is expressed and understood today. “Today we live in the age of social media, and that has changed the way love works,” he said, highlighting how emotions now unfold in real time, often through screens. Reflecting on earlier times, Siddhant pointed out that confusion in love existed even before social media, just in a very different form. “In our time, confusion existed at a completely different level. There was no social media, so most of the time we simply didn’t know what the other person was feeling. Years would pass, and we’d still be unaware of their emotions,” he shared. He fondly recalled how “we would stand outside school, waiting just to catch a glimpse - hoping for that one look. Did they notice us or not? If they walked away, would they turn back and look? These tiny moments meant everything to us.” Interestingly, Siddhant’s thoughts on modern romance come at a time when he is gearing up for his upcoming romantic film Do Deewane Seher Mein, where he stars opposite Mrunal Thakur. Speaking about today’s dating culture, he added, “Now, even love is heavily influenced by social media. People deliberately put up stories with songs they know the other person likes, then wait to see if they’ve viewed it or liked it. Today, there are so many terms in modern dating, ghosting, breadcrumbing, and more, that half the time we don’t even know what all of them mean.” As audiences await the film, his perspective reinforces one idea - love hasn’t become confusing; it has simply evolved.  About Do Deewane Seher Mein Do Deewane Seher Mein is a love story that feels timeless yet new, and is also touted as one of the cutest and most heartfelt love stories of 2026, bringing back the kind of romance we haven’t seen in cinemas for a long time. Mrunal and Siddhant play characters who are polar opposites and complete misfits, and are still figuring themselves out. It is directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bharat Kumar Ranga in association with Ravi Udyawar Films. The film arrives as a Valentine’s offering for those who believe love is messy, confusing, and worth it. It’s a film that doesn’t tell you how to feel, but lets you discover it on your own. Do Deewane Sheher Mein is slated for a theatrical release on 20th February 2026.

Ranveer Singh and Rahul Bhat

Rahul Bhat praises Dhurandhar star: 'Ranveer Singh is a very secure actor'

In an industry often defined by competition and larger-than-life egos, Ranveer Singh has consistently stood out,  not just for his impressive performances but also for his grounded nature and humility. In recent days, however, the actor has gained limelight not just for his Dhurandhar act but for his tiff with Excel Entertainmet for walking out of Don 3. He also garnered headlines for reportedly receiving a threatening voice note on WhatsApp demanding money.  Rahul Bhat praises Ranveer Singh Amid this noise around the actor, Rahul Bhat has showered words of praise. The Kennedy actor recently applauded Ranveer’s rare sense of security as a star performer in Dhurandhar during a chat with Money Control.  “Akshaye Khanna and the other actors were brilliant in the movie, but Ranveer Singh was outstanding. And he is a very secure actor… Despite being a star, he is so secure; I love him,” Rahul said. Rahul went a step further, highlighting how unusual such confidence can be in the industry. According to him, senior and established actors often struggle with insecurity, sometimes even getting portions of co-actors’ roles reduced. Ranveer, however, demonstrated the opposite. “Itni security chahiye kisi actor mein… Itna bada star hoga na woh bolega main nahi karoonga… What an interesting actor, and I am very happy for him,” he said. (An actor needs this level of security. A big star might refuse or try to cut scenes of others out of insecurity. What an interesting actor — I am very happy for him.) For many, this quality is what truly sets Ranveer apart. Even at the peak of his stardom, he continues to uplift those around him. Rahul Bhat's work front On the professional front, Rahul Bhat was last seen as DSP Tomar in Netflix’s Black Warrant and is now gearing up for the India release of Kennedy on ZEE5. But his admiration for Ranveer reflects a larger sentiment within the fraternity,  that true superstardom is not just about dominance, but about dignity. That dignity is also matched by numbers. Ranveer Singh has consistently delivered box office successes and cemented his position among the industry’s top stars. With Dhurandhar, he has further strengthened his standing, and with Dhurandhar: The Revenge reportedly in the pipeline, he is poised to scale even greater heights. If the sequel builds on the current momentum, fueled by strong buzz and audience enthusiasm, Ranveer could continue his impressive box office run

Rambha Ho girl Kalpana Iyer says she is looking for work, hopes it finds her

The year 2025’s biggest hit, Dhurandhar, brought with it a wave of nostalgia as it reused some iconic tracks. Among them was the song Rambha Ho, which was strategically placed during a fight sequence featuring Ranveer Singh. The song quickly became a favourite among Instagram users as well. Kalpana Iyer on her dance going viral Meanwhile, actress Kalpana Iyer on whom the song was originally picturised also went viral after she danced to the new version of the track. She performed to the song at a wedding, and the video soon caught the attention of netizens. Amid this newfound fame among the younger generation, Kalpana Iyer has opened up about leaving Bollywood and being available for work at the age of 70. While speaking to SCREEN, Kalpana Iyer addressed her viral dance moment. “The only difference is this wedding, where my dancing to Rambha Ho went viral. It gave me a new lease of life. I went on stage with no expectations. I believe that what is yours will come to you, however late. Six months away from 70, I couldn’t have asked for a better opening. Now all I wish is that the world manifests my career for me.” Kalpana on returning to Bollywood Iyer had moved to Dubai years ago, leaving Bollywood behind. However, she is open to returning to the film industry if opportunities arise. “Frankly speaking, if ‘Rambha Ho’ opens new doors, sure I’ll be back, whether I have to dance or act,” she said. “At 70, I am not going to decide what I want to do. Even then, I didn’t. I am honest with what I do. I want the work,” Kalpana added. She continued, “I am looking for work, and genuinely, I am happy with whatever course my life has taken so far. I have kept my doors open. My phone is available. People know me, and if they think I deserve something, it’ll come to me. It’s my belief, and I am going to do everything, roles, dance, guest appearances, invitations to shows, anything and everything. I want to work. It’s as simple as that. I would like my 70th birthday to be something I remember for my work now.” The actress, who moved to Dubai after work slowed down in Bollywood, spoke about that phase in detail. “Neither did I quit working, nor did I turn around and leave my country. Nothing of the sort. I needed to be busy. I needed work. After Hum Saath Saath Hain, I found that work was not coming the way it used to, and the roles that came were not up to the mark. I have never said I want a full-length role. I have never said I want the main dance. I have never said that I won’t stand on the sidelines. All I said was that it has to come to me with dignity. After Hum Saath Saath Hain, things just came to a standstill,” Kalpana Iyer said.

Kamaal R Khan and Rajpal Yadav

Rajpal Yadav case: Kamaal R Khan offers Rs 10 lakh as financial aid to actor

Actor Rajpal Yadav, who has made millions laugh with his performances on screen, is currently facing jail time. The actor, known for his comic roles in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Dhol, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan, and others, recently surrendered at Tihar Jail after being found guilty in a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. After his case gained traction, some members of the film industry have offered financial help. Actor and self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan has also offered financial assistance. Kamaal R Khan offers Rs 10 lakh On Tuesday, KRK took to his official X account, offering Rs 10 lakh to support Yadav and urging members of the film fraternity to step in. “I am ready to give Rs 10 lakhs for Rajpal Yadav. Let’s all Bollywood people come together to give him Rs 5 crore! If he pays back Rs 5 crore, he can come out of jail immediately! Let’s all help him (sic),” he wrote. Earlier, actor Sonu Sood also extended his support to Rajpal Yadav and urged filmmakers to cast him and offer him an advance on his work. Calling Rajpal Yadav a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable performances to the film industry, Sonu Sood remarked that life can sometimes be unfair and announced that Yadav would now be part of his film. Apart from Sood, Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of Gem Tunes Music, also stepped forward to support the actor with financial assistance of Rs 1.11 crore. About Rajpal Yadav's case For the uninitiated, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the police after the Delhi High Court directed him to do so in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases. Yadav had taken a loan to produce his film Ata Pata Laapata in 2010 but was unable to repay it. In 2018, a magisterial court sentenced the actor and his wife to six months in jail. In 2019, a sessions court upheld the verdict. In 2024, when the actor and his wife approached the Delhi High Court seeking relief, the court temporarily suspended the sentence, noting that they were not habitual offenders and allowing time for settlement. However, the actor failed to repay the debt. A single-judge bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma deprecated the actor’s conduct, observing his repeated failure to honour settlement commitments despite being granted several opportunities. “This Court is of the view that the conduct of the petitioner no. 1 (Rajpal Yadav) deserves to be deprecated. Despite repeatedly giving assurances and seeking indulgence of this Court, he has failed to comply with the orders passed from time to time,” Justice Sharma observed. The Delhi High Court was hearing a batch of petitions filed by Yadav and his wife challenging their conviction and sentence under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
