How was the Kat vs Kat clash at box office averted?

Katrina Kaif, who had a single release 'Bang Bang' in 2014, will be seen in two films this year — 'Jagga Jasoos' with her rumoured beau Ranbir Kapoor, and 'Phantom' with Saif Ali Khan. Incidentally, the makers of both films were believed to have had zeroed in on the same release date — August 28.

Industry insiders claimed that 'Phantom', which was supposed to release this April, would hit the big screen only on August 28 and clash with 'Jagga…' making it tough for Kat to balance the promotions of the two films.

However, another source pointed out that Jagga Jasoos director Anurag Basu was yet to wrap up the final shoot schedule after which the film would go into post production. "So, it had to be pushed ahead and will no longer clash with Kabir Khan’s Phantom," the source adds.

The actress herself confirms the news. Says Katrina, "'Jagga…' has been pushed ahead." The film is being co-produced by Basu and Ranbir.

While the two directors remained unavailable for comment, Phantom's co-producer Sajid Nadiadwala asserts, "Our film will release on August 28, but I think Jagga Jasoos has moved to a further date."
