Juhi plays Kashmiri widow

Juhi Chawla is currently shooting for Onir's film I Am Megha where she plays a Kashmiri widow. Juhi's character is loosely based on Sanjay Suri's mother. Sanjay incidentally plays the male lead in the film. Juhi's character comes back to Srinagar 20 years after insurgency had forced her to leave it. In real life, Sanjay and his mother had been forced to leave Srinagar after terrorists had killed his father. In fact, Sanjay's mother had visited Kashmir 17 years after leaving it, but did not go to their former house due to the painful memories.

Sanjay's mother provided inputs to the film, which according to Onir, is about a lost homeland.
