Sources say that Siddharth Malhotra and Anushka Sharma will headline the cast in the Indian remake of the hit French film, Priceless.

The film (titled Hors de Prix in French), directed by Pierre Salvadori and starring Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh in the lead roles, tells the story of a young gold digger who mistakenly woos a mild-mannered bartender thinking he’s a wealthy suitor.

The Indian version will be produced by Karan Johar; this project was apparently taken up after the ambitious Dostana 2 was shelved. It will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the director of Dostana. But sources say that Karan Johar apparently does not approve of Tarun’s changes in the script.

A source close to the production house says, “There were some changes suggested by Tarun in the script, but Karan Johar did not like them. Later on, Tarun went ahead with some fresh changes and Karan didn’t like them either. In the meantime, Siddharth Malhotra will now start shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane’s next titled Bhavesh Joshi. This is why Tarun’s take on Priceless has been put on hold.”

Both Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani were unavailable for comment.
