Nearly two months after actress Karisma Kapoor and business tycoon Sunjay Kapur agreed to a settlement and divorce through mutual consent in the Supreme Court, the family court in Mumbai granted them divorce in June 2016.

Sunjay and Karisma had married in 2003. They decided to file for a divorce through mutual consent in 2014, but withdrew the petition after Karisma alleged that Sunjay had failed to comply with the financial commitments mentioned in the terms of consent. Sunjay had argued in court that the actress had failed as a wife, mother and daughter-in-law, and that she had married him only for money. The actress had also filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay and his mother, which the apex court quashed in April. (Read full report)
