Shahid and Sonam starrer Mausam is set in Kashmir but will be shot in Edinburgh due to security reasons
Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are all set to go to Edinburgh to shoot their film Mausam in Edinburgh. Pankaj Kapoor's directorial venture is set in Kashmir, with Sonam playing a Kashmiri lass, but the film unit decided against shooting in Kashmir due to security issues. So the lovely landscapes of Edinburgh in Scotland will stand in for the hills of Kashmir in the film.

Initially, the crew thought of shooting in London, but since the city and its surroundings have been seen in various Hindi films, they realised that it will never be convincing as Kashmir. The cast and crew will leave for Edinburgh on May 1 and will shoot till June 30. Meanwhile, Supriya Pathak will play Sonam's aunt in Mausam.
