Even before the release of author Chetan Bhagat's next novel 'Half Girlfriend', filmmaker Mohit Suri has come on board to helm the movie adaptation of the book.

Bhagat announced the news on twitter saying he is happy that the 'Aashiqui 2' and 'Ek Villain' director has attached himself with the project.
"Delighted to announce super talented Mohit Suri will direct the film based on my next book 'Half Girlfriend', "Bhagat posted.'Half Girlfriend' is a story about Madhav, a Bihari boy with big dreams who falls in love with the beautiful Riya, a rich lass from Delhi.
The book, which is Bhagat's seventh work, will hit stands on October 1.
"'Half Girlfriend' will release on Oct 1, 2014, or in just about two weeks. Can't wait for you guys to read it," the author added.
