IPL teams owned by B-Towners won't have fresh music videos

Last year, three IPL team owners (and B-Towners)u00a0-- Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shettyu00a0-- produced videos to promote their respective teams. This year, none of them are making or promoting new videos.u00a0

According to Shilpa Shetty, it is "budgetary constraints" that have come in the way of a new music video for her (and husband Raj Kundra's) RR team. Last year, their music video cost almost a crore (Rs 85 lakh, actually). She says they aren't keen on spendingu00a0 that kind of money on a music video this year, and would rather spend that amount on other things.

Shilpa adds, "I don't think any of us (SRK, her and Preity) are going in for a new music video this year. At RR, we have added a new caricature called Muchoo Singh, who appears in the old video. It was the marketing team's idea to have him."

Shilpa adds, "One of the reasons we decided not to have a new music video was because, last year, our videos were not shown much in India as the event was hosted in South Africa. We wanted to play our song Halla Bol as we didn't want to change it. The song works well for us. With Muchoo Singh and the earlier music video re-edited and re-shot in an innovative manner by Ken Ghosh (who had shot RR's music video too), this video looks as good as new."

About the possibility of a new KKR video, SRK says, "Haven't decided yet."
Preity Zinta says, "The team is the same, and we want the original song to be our signature tune."
Last year at this time...

Last year, Shah Rukh had shot the KKR song Too Hot Too Cool in a music video (with his team members) directed by Farah Khan at the helipad area in Film City. The whole look and concept had been African as the IPL 2's venue had been shifted to South Africa.
Shilpa and Raj had hired a jet plane during the shoot, Sunidhi Chauhan for rendering the song and had shot it in Jaipur.
Preity and Ness's Kings XI Punjab theme song Dhoom Punjabi was sung by Daler Mehndi. The anthem video was headlined by Daler Mehndi himself along with Preity Zinta.
