After Bandit Queen, actor Seema Biswas has again picked up the gun for her latest film. This time too this fiery performer has spared no effort for her role. The actor reveals, "We had to undergo 15-20 days rifle/gun training for the film. So there was lot of fireworks (laughs). I don't have a big role in the film but it's a great character."
The shooting for the film was done in the jungles of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and in the hilly Sahyadris. "The jungles in Andhra were so dense that the sunlight didn't touch the ground. I remember all of us taking shelter in the small plastic canopies that we had erected when it rained."
Seema goes on to explain that one of her old college friend's experiences also came in handy for the role. "I belong to Assam, where we have a number of anti-government revolutionary groups. In fact, Marxist and other ideologies were quite common in my college days. One of my friends was very much influenced by it.
She was a very honest and hardworking girl, who totally believed in it. She joined one of the movements and left home.
"I remember her writing letters to me when I went to the National School of Drama, Delhi, about her going underground. Later, I came to know about the hardships she underwent as a revolutionary. However, she has now quit the movement and runs a school in Assam.
She later told me that the education system was highly responsible in misguiding youngsters in poorly developed states. That was a sort of reference point for me." Well Seema, we are sure that you have something explosive in store for us.
