Kavita Seth's 'Iktaara' sent the nation in a soulful trance, and the lady is all set to repeat her magic with Mora Piya Mose Bolat Nahin in an upcoming film. She tells CS about her five favourite Sufi numbers:

Khwaja Mere Khwaja
(Jodhaa Akbar)

The song has a lot of depth. It educates listeners about Ajmer Shariff and Khwaja Nizamuddin Chisti.
The lyrics are beautifully woven in the composition.

Tumhe Dillagi Bhooljani Padegi (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan)

This song has been beautifully rendered. I respect Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, not only for his calibre, but also for the huge contribution he has made to Sufi music in his short life span.

Jee Chahe Toh Sheesha Banja (Abida Parveen)

The song is written in a manner where the shayar unveils the entire meaning through words one by one. It is a very unique, yet touching number.

Yeh Duniya Agar Mill Bhi Jaaye Toh Kya Hai (Pyaasa)

This is from one of Indian cinema's most evergreen films, Pyaasa. According to me, the song is extremely futuristic in the context of that era. The poet speaks about how material things in life come and go. This is a very apt message for the modern world that is always craving for material things.u00a0

Mora Piya Mose Bolat Nahin
This is the song which I have sung for Prakash Jha's next release. The song is a mix of folk and Sufi, which is an experiment for me. The song is beautiful in the way that it questions one's soul at the same time bonds with it.I truly love Sufi music as the songs are melodious and meaningful at the same time.
