Reason why Saif Ali Khan skipped 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' premiere

Apparently his role was chopped substantially due to which he was upset. But then if you have an actor like Akshay Kumar as co-star who is known to sit on the editing tables to get more footage, what did he expect? Anyway why is this being talked now? That apparently was the reason he gave a skip to the premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan! Ouch!
