Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D

What it's about:
This one will only make sense if you've been following Alice's story from the very beginning. The makers take it for granted you have been following the nefarious activities of the Umbrella Corporation and their 'experiment-gone-renegade' either on the video game format or in film.Long story short: The whole world has gone zombie thanks to a mutated virus pandemic.
The few that have survived don't have it easy at all. Alice is the only person to have not turned into an undead mutie thanks to the virus reacting to her blood differently, giving her superhuman powers. In the previous two films, she's been trying to save people from zombies and Umbrella itself.
It's more of the same this time. It's also the first time Alice meets her archnemesis Andrew Wesker, chairman of Umbrella.Alice lands on the roof of a high-security prison in Los Angeles this time. The only persons left alive wanna head to Arcadia, an ocean liner offshore.

Why?
Because a radio transmission tells them it's safe there. When you have Los Angeles' undead and a huge Axeman breaking down your doors, you have no choice left.

What's hot:
The 3-D doesn't feel gimmicky. The acting is largely efficient. The guns, gore, prosthetic and VFX are top-notch. What really gets your jaw dropping, though, are the splendid aerial shots. After a while you may tire of the constant rat-a-tat but you can forever gaze at beautifully captured landscapes, however desolate and computer-enhanced they may be.

What's not:
Viewers who have not seen earlier films in the franchise won't connect to it and will not regard it as anything more than an average zombie survival flick.

What's that!
Wentworth Miller is incarcerated and you wonder why. And then it strikes you. He's in a prison and is the only guy who knows how to break out. How authentic!

What to do:
Watch it for the grand spectacle it shows itself to be. You will be entertained!
