Given her stature of being a star-kid, Sara Ali Khan found herself in the midst of brewing speculations ever since news of her foraying into acting first hit headlines. It was initially stated that Saif Ali Khan's 23-year-old daughter would make her debut with Karan Johar's 'Student Of The Year 2', but reports of her featuring in Abhishek Kapoor's love story, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, surfaced soon after.

Her doting dad Saif approves of her choice of cinema. "Her choice is great and I am thrilled and excited about her first outing. She comes from a family of artistes, so acting is something she has inherited. I am happy that Sara is doing something she is passionate about," the actor tells mid-day.

Although he will always have her back, Saif Ali Khan was hesitant about Sara's acting career, given the uncertainty of show business. "I am still a little concerned as it's an unsure profession. But I support her decision." Saif trusts his daughter to make the right choices, given that she is "a bright girl", but he does have a piece of advice. "I tell her to read the script properly. She is a smart kid and has many well wishers around her, including her mother (Amrita Singh), me, and Karan Johar among others. She can come to us for advice."
